make your room as 'you' as you can, you shouldn't decorate your room for anyone but you. if you like bright colors, then go for it. you don't have to show your maturity in the way you decorate a room, show your maturity with your actions and words. though i must say, as a guide, contrasting colors (pink and black) will be more disrupting than peaceful. unless that is what your looking for...
