Should I date this boy?

I say that if you really like him then go for it! I understand valuing your parents perspectives and opinions and wanting to do right by them, but at some point you'll need to start making your own decisions. Didn't you say that he started doing drugs partly because of the stress he was put under to impress his parents and those around him? I would hate for you to end up like that. Just remember to take things slowly and don't sacrfice all of your time with them to be with him. Blood is always thicker than water, and if they feel like they're losing you then they are bound to make your relationship horrible. Once again, make your own decision and be on the look out for signs that you two should go your separate ways. Best of luck!
