Companion Planting in a Hydroponics System?

Hey, I was wondering if planting Amaranth( a.k.a Red spinach, Rau Den, Chinese spinach, Hon-toi-moi, Yin choy, Hsien tsai, Amaranthus dubius) with Cherry tomatoes would be a good idea. They would be planted pretty close to each other as I have limited space in the hydroponics system. Thanks in advance :)
